2010 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 98JS, 95VN, 95WE, 95WS, 93CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A remarkable wine, the 2010 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select has gone from strength to strength since it was in cask. It is stunningly rich, with classic, fragrant notes of blackcurrants, blackberries, vanilla, graphite and spring flowers. It exhibits an opaque purple color, with a full-bodied, massive mouthfeel, but no heaviness, and again, a flawless integration of acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood. It’s classic California Cabernet, but beautifully put together, showing impeccable craftsmanship and fabulous potential. This is obviously a very young, infantile style of Cabernet that won’t hit its prime for at least another decade and last close to half a century, based on how older vintages that were less well-endowed have matured from Shafer. (RP)" (12/2014)

2010 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (95RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Pinot Noir Marcassin Vineyard is a slightly tighter style of Pinot Noir, and lighter than the 2009. There is more acidity showing through, the fruit offering up various red and black fruits from pomegranate to plum to cassis, dark sweet cherries as well as foresty underbrush notes. (RP)" (08/2015)

2005 Kapcsandy Family "State Lane Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Kapcsandy Family "State Lane Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "98+ points. The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, which was 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc (600 cases), reveals loads of licorice, graphite, and blackcurrants in a sexy, toasty style with hints of earth, loamy soil notes and a floral underpinning. The wine is fragrant, with great intensity, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and almost a Mouton-Rothschild-like crème de cassis element. This wine is drinking well now, but will continue to evolve for another two decades. (RP)" (06/2015)

2004 Vincent Dauvissat Chablis Grand Cru "Les Preuses"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Vincent Dauvissat Chablis Grand Cru "Les Preuses" (93BH, 92ST, 91RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "(opened from personal storage). A maturing but still youthful nose of ripe, ultra pure and focused green fruit and oyster shell-infused nose that is almost laser-like in its precision and nuance that complements perfectly the rich, naturally sweet and unbelievably intense flavors that culminate in an explosively long but distinctly fine finish. This is akin to having a vinous bomb go off in your mouth as the bone dry backend just goes on and on with an energy and vibrancy that immediately declares that this is no ordinary grand cru. From the standpoint of maturity, it's still young though not forbidding and while it could be drunk now, I will allow the rest of my bottles to sleep for another 1 to 3 years before attacking them seriously. In a word, sensational. Consistent notes." (04/2011)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine J-F Mugnier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Fuées" (91ST, 90BH, 90RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright medium red. Reticent aromas of raspberry, strawberry and crushed stone. Rounder and sweeter than the village wine, with sexy herb and spice notes giving lift to the supple middle palate. Really saturates the mouth on the rising, echoing finish. Has a solid tannic spine to support a graceful evolution in bottle. Showing more stuffing than it did from barrel a year ago. Of the 2004 Domaine Joseph Roty Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru "Très Vieilles Vignes",Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Good deep red. Captivating aromas of dark raspberry, licorice, underbrush and truffle. Supple, silky and sweet, with uncanny depth for a wine from this vintage. Highly concentrated flavors of cherry, spice and black licorice; really fat with sweet fruit, and distinctly fruitier today than the Griottes. Broad and full but with zero heaviness. Very long finishing flavors of spice and licorice. An incredible performance in the context of the year. And structured to last. (ST)" (03/2007)

2001 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 97WS, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine, which first debuted in 1990, has probably garnered more perfect scores than any other Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. [It's] just entering a young adolescent stage of development, exhibiting extraordinary nuances such as sweet, loamy soil and earthy minerality intermixed with some background smoke, black currant liqueur, plum, Asian spice and new saddle leather. Full-bodied, it possesses great intensity, with stunning flavors that are viscous enough to coat the mouth, but never become heavy or overbearing. The wine has a remarkable purity, concentration and intensity that should carry it for another 30+ years. This is already very promising, and for those who own it, I would suggest a good two to three hours of decanting prior to service. (RP)" (06/2011)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 700 cases of the 2014 Ontogeny Proprietary Red, a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Petit Verdot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Totally dry, even though there is a wonderful sucrosity to the fruit. The wine has stunning blackberry and cassis notes, spring flowers, supple tannins and a long, multidimensional mouthfeel. It is a sexy beast for sure and best drunk over the next 15 or so years. (RP)" (10/2016)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 10,200 cases of the remarkable 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate. Opaque purple-colored with a dense, chewy, full-bodied personality, it displays abundant cassis, mineral, and earth notes. This brilliantly made, super-concentrated, pure, blockbuster possesses sweet tannin as well as a terrific finish. Having added additional weight since last year, this sumptuous, multilayered, profoundly concentrated Cabernet contains 14% alcohol. It is a candidate for 25-30 years of longevity. (RP)" (12/2000)

2007 Sine Qua Non "Labels" California Syrah
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Sine Qua Non "Labels" California Syrah (98RP, 94ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The recently released 2007 Syrah Labels (89% Syrah, 7% Grenache, and 4% Viognier) comes from the 11 Confessions Estate Vineyard (57%), a small amount from the home estate vineyard in Oak View called Cumulus, and the rest from purchased fruit grown in the White Hawk Vineyard in Los Alamos and the Bien Nacido Vineyard in Santa Maria. A sensational effort, it is performing even better out of bottle than it did from barrel. An opaque purple color is accompanied by beautiful notes of charcoal, acacia flowers, blueberries, blackberries, graphite, and subtle smoke. With great fruit, tremendous texture, and full-bodied power, it is locked and loaded. (RP)" (08/2010)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Stones No. 2 comes from the G-III and is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from clone 4. This is another near-perfect effort from winemaker Philippe Melka and the Fairchild team. Beautiful, sweet blueberry, blackberry and cassis fruit intermixed with floral notes, earthy soil undertones and forest floor notes are all present in this complex wine, which sports a full-bodied, mega-concentrated mouthfeel, but has no sense of heaviness or awkwardness. Of the 2012 Turnbull "Leopoldina" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "A big-time winner, the dense purple-colored 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Leopoldina Vineyard possesses savory blackcurrant and blackberry fruit deftly touched by toasty oak. The wine builds incrementally on the palate to a full-bodied crescendo at the finish. The tannins are sweet but noticeable, and the wine is long and rich. Wine Spectator: " *Collectibles and #8 of Top 100 Wines of 2013* Dark, dense and very closed now, this has a tremendous core of crushed plum, linzer torte and blackberry confiture waiting in reserve. Ample singed cedar and mesquite, warm paving stone and black tea notes lurk in the background and glide through the finish. Features serious grip, but wonderful integration. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Leopoldina Vineyard is showing loads of new oak, plenty of blackberry and cassis fruit, a tightly knit, coiled style that is often the case with these big, rich 2013s. Yet, it has enormous potential, a tremendous full-bodied mouthfeel, and a finish close to 45-50 seconds. This wine just needs another 7-10 years of cellaring and should last 30 or 40 years. 1988 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Grands Echézeaux Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 1988 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Grands Echézeaux Grand Cru (95RP, 93BH, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I have been telling people for years that this domaine's 'best buy,' if such a label can be applied here, is the Grands Echezeaux. While it is not Romanee-Conti or La Tache, it often comes very close to those two titans, at a fraction of the price. In 1988, it is fabulous. In fact, my unedited tasting notes had the words 'fabulous' in them twice and 'awesome' once. It is decadently rich and spicy with an extraordinary perfume of violets, gamey, plum-like fruit, toasty new oak, and a finish that must last several minutes. (Burgundy Book)" (01/1990)

Vinous: "Just as brilliant from bottle as it was from barrel, the 2013 Pinot Noir Horseshoe Vineyard Hillside hits all the right notes. Exotic, perfumed and structured, the 2013 exudes pedigree. Violets, lavender, dark spices and black cherries flesh out in a dark, sensual Pinot loaded with class. The flavors are vivid, nuanced and layered throughout. The 2013 boasts striking inner perfume, endless layers of fruit and an intense, palate-staining finish. Simply stated, the 2013 is a remarkable, deeply expressive, must-have wine from Rhys. Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2001 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (95RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The classically styled 2001 Chateauneuf du Pape has plenty of the telltale kirsch and sweet spice notes that always seem to be present in Avril's wines. Showing more mature notes of truffle, olive, licorice and garrigue as it sat in the glass, it's medium to full-bodied, elegant and balanced, with a great texture and finish. It has solid mid-palate depth, as well as sweet tannin, so, while there's no harm enjoying bottles today, it has another decade of longevity. (JD)" (09/2015)

2013 Shafer "Relentless" Napa Valley Syrah
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Shafer "Relentless" Napa Valley Syrah ((98-100RP), (91-93VN)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The same can be said for the 2013 Syrah Relentless, which might end up being the finest one they’ve ever made. The berries were the smallest they’ve encountered, and they were not the only winery to say that about the 2013 red varietals. A blend of 97% Syrah and 3% Petite Sirah, the wine is opaque black/purple with an incredible nose of subtle wood, charcoal embers, blackberry, blueberry and black raspberry fruit, baking spices, and again, a roasted meatiness with some bouquet garni thrown in the background. The complex aromatics were already starting to roar from the glass, and the wine, enormously endowed, is full-bodied and flawlessly constructed. This wine shows the classic Pauillac nose of cedarwood, creme de cassis, licorice and fruitcake. Wine & Spirits: "There's something in this wine that's rivetingly true to its place, a classical simplicity, as if smelling cherry blossoms in a coastal forest, or picking raspberries along Westside Road. It has the gentleness of great Russian River pinot, and a bright, happy flavor that lasts for minutes. From five neighboring vineyards, including Rochioli and Flax, with 90 percent of the fruit coming from Williams Selyem estate plantings at Drake and Litton. Winemaker Bob Cabral believes it's his best Russian River Pinot Noir in years. " (10/2008)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Clos du Caillou "Reserve" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (100RP, 97WS, 96ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The best bottle of this I've ever had, the 2005 Châteauneuf du Pape Reserve was utter perfection on this occasion. Made from a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Mourvèdre that was raised mostly in demi-muids, it exhibits awesome notes of blackberry, licorice, smoked herbs, graphite and tinges of minerality. Decadent, massively full-bodied and with sweet tannin, this thrilling Châteauneuf is hard to resist now, yet should continue to knock it out of the park for another decade or more. (JD)" (02/2015)

2005 Kistler "Kistler Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Kistler "Kistler Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir ((93-95RP), 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Steve Kistler has backed off extraction for his Pinot Noirs, resulting in more ethereal (but not light) Pinots that are less burdened down by tannin in their youth, with each vineyard’s distinctive fruit and terroir coming through with much greater intensity. After experimenting with some Dijon clones, Kistler became convinced that the best clone for cool climate vineyards is the Calera Clone from California, and based on what he has achieved, I can’t argue. The deep ruby/purple-hued 2005 Pinot Noir Kistler Vineyard possesses sweet blueberry, raspberry, and forest floor notes, zesty acidity, elegance, and finesse, and a medium-bodied finish. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Freestone (Joseph Phelps) "Pastorale Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (94RP, 92CG, 92ST, 91BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Savory herbs, mint, licorice and sweet red cherries emerge from the 2010 Pinot Noir Estate Pastorale Vineyard. A beautifully delineated, mid-weight Pinot, the Pastorale impresses for its fabulous balance and pure personality. The 2010 is bright and focused from start to finish. Savory herbs and floral notes reappear on the finish, adding lift and finesse. It is a lovely showing from Phelps. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2020. Once again, I came away deeply impressed with the wines I tasted from Joseph Phelps and their Freestone Vineyards range. These are without question some of the most polished wines being made in the Sonoma Coast today. (AG)" (04/2013)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Black Label flirts with perfection, with gorgeous graphite, blueberry and blackberry fruit and a full-bodied mouthfeel. The wine is light on its feet for such massive extraction. With not a hard edge to be found, this is truly brilliant winemaking from a great terroir. This is long, rich powerful and certainly seems to have 30 years of upside. Forget it for five years and drink it over the following 30+ years. (RP)" (12/2015)

2012 Domaine de Montille Beaune 1er Cru "Les Sizies"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Domaine de Montille Beaune 1er Cru "Les Sizies". Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Unlike the Beaune Les Perrieres, the 2012 Beaune 1er Cru Les Sizies was completely de-stemmed in 2012. It has a tight nose of brambly black fruit and damp mossy aromas. Sharp brittle tannins and a chalky finish underpin the palate. 1967 Suduiraut, Sauternes
Bid on this bottle of 1967 Suduiraut, Sauternes. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A classic vintage for Suduiraut, this rich, full-bodied, expansive, viscous, fully mature wine has a wonderful honeyed, almond, caramel-scented bouquet, rich, sweet, deep, succulent flavors, full body, and a muscular, aggressive finish. The 1967 is perhaps not a match for the 1959 or 1976, but it is certainly the best wine produced at this chateau between these two vintages. (RP)" (01/1998)

Of the 2004 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Ducs",Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2004 Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Ducs, poured from magnum, has a deep garnet color. It feels stubborn and obdurate on the nose, as Clos des Ducs can do, with blackcurrant leaf and subtle marine influences that become more pronounced with aeration. The palate is supple on the entry with fine tannins and good substance. Succulent dark cherries intermix with red plum and Earl Grey tea towards the structured finish. Very fine. Drink now-2020. 2013 Realm "Farella Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Realm "Farella Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 97JS, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the southeastern AVA Coombsville in the Vaca Mountains, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Farella Vineyard is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from white tufa and decomposed red volcanic sedimentary soils. For whatever reason, it seems that people who buy from this vineyard make better wine than the actual owners, which I'm sad to say, is not exactly what proprietors Tom and Frank Farella would like to hear. This is a terrific Cabernet Sauvignon made from clones 4 and 8, offering a rich nose of blackberries, dark earth, a touch of barrique, and some baking spices. The wine is rich, full-bodied, tannic and backward. Deep and super-concentrated, it needs another 2-3 years of cellaring, but should last another 25-30 years. (RP)" (12/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Cirq "Treehouse Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (97RP, 94VN, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The larger production cuvee (1,748 cases) is the 2013 Pinot Noir Treehouse Vineyard, which comes from a higher elevation site that's above the fog line, roughly eight miles from the Pacific Ocean. Its deep ruby color is followed by to-die-for notes of black raspberries, crushed violets, cassis, spice and toasted bread. Utterly perfect on the palate, with medium to full-bodied richness, an ethereal, seamless, multi-dimensional texture, fine tannin and crazy length, hats off to the team at CIRQ for this singular beauty. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The first vintage from this vineyard, the utterly sensational 694-case 2013 Pinot Noir Bootlegger's Hill was completely destemmed and was brought up in 55% new French oak, with a small part in concrete egg. Offering incredible notes of creme de cassis and black currants, with beautifully integrated oak, it has medium to full-bodied richness, a seamless, layered, ultra-pure texture, fine tannin and a flat out awesome finish. It's certainly one of the superstar Pinot Noirs from California and while it's brilliant today, it should drink well for 10-15+ years. (JD)" (09/2016)
