2004 Elio Altare Barolo
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Elio Altare Barolo (93AG, 92WE, 92WS, 90ST). Antonio Galloni: "Altare’s 2004 Barolo is a sweet, dense wine loaded with considerable fruit that hides the tannic structure that lurks underneath. Licorice, menthol, baking spices and dark red fruit all make an appearance in this superbly well-proportioned Barolo. Sweet, ripe tannins, and a lingering note of mint give this wine a beautiful sense of lift on the finish. Altare’s Barolo was once quite representative of La Morra, but the recent addition of vineyards in Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga in the blend make this a very different – dare I say it – almost traditional expression of Barolo. It is a lovely wine and is not to be missed. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2024. " (12/2007)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Elderton "Command" Single Vineyard Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia (96RP, 95WE, 94WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Medium garnet in color, the 2004 Shiraz Command Elderton Estate is a little mute at this stage, revealing subtle to moderate aromas of leather, sandalwood and spice over warm blackberry plus some mocha. Full-bodied with medium-firm fine tannins, complex evolving flavors and a great line of acid, the finish is very long. Give it another year or 2 for the nose to emerge from this closed stage and drink it 2012 to 2022+. (LPB)" (12/2010)

2003 Crocker & Starr "Stone Place" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Crocker & Starr "Stone Place" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (94RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is a beautiful wine made from 84% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Merlot by veteran winemaker Pam Starr, who previously worked at Sonoma-Cutrer, Carmenet, and Spottswoode. Most of this cuvee comes from the Crocker Vineyard, which dates back to 1870. Notes of charcoal, earth, black currant liqueur, licorice, flowers, and spicy wood emerge from this inky/ruby/purple-colored blend. With superb intensity as well as purity, medium to full body, ripe tannin, and plenty of depth and texture ... (RP)" (12/2006)

2004 Chateau St. Jean "Cinq Cepages" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Chateau St. Jean "Cinq Cepages" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 92WE, 90W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Cinq Cepages is a blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and the rest Malbec and Petit Verdot. A big sweet kiss of incense, bay leaf, white chocolate, black cherries, black currants and a touch of smoke jump from the glass of this opaque purple-colored wine. Rich and concentrated, this comes across as one of the best vintages I have tasted of Cinq Cepages. There are still some light tannins in the finish and this wine, while clearly entering its period of maturity, has at least another 15 years of cellaring potential. (RP)" (04/2014)

2002 Fisher "Lamb Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Fisher "Lamb Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Approaching full maturity but still youthful, as if it is in late adolescence, this wine, from the excellent Fisher family based on the Sonoma side of the Mayacamas Mountains, comes from their 12-acre Lamb Vineyard, planted in northeastern Napa. The wine exhibits some scorched earth, white chocolate, underbrush and black currants as well as hints of sweet cherry and loamy soil (or is it just a crushed rock minerality?). Beautiful texture, easygoing purity and a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel give this wine both power and elegance. Drink it over the next decade. (RP)" (06/2012)

2006 Felsina "Rancia" Chianti Classico Riserva
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Felsina "Rancia" Chianti Classico Riserva (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia is another of the truly great wines in this tasting. It is most similar in style to the 2001 for its power, but also has some of the aromatic finesse and complexity of the 2004. Layers of fruit build to the explosive, huge finish. Today the 2006 is big, implosive and tightly wound, but it will be absolutely gorgeous in another few years. Actually, it already is. Since its release a few years ago, the 2006 has continued to move towards a more refined expression of Sangiovese while maintaining all of the structure it showed as a young wine. (AG)" (06/2012)

2001 Fontanafredda Barolo Lazzarito
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Fontanafredda Barolo Lazzarito (94W&S, 92AG, 92RP, 90WS). Wine & Spirits: "Lazzarito comes from La Delizia Vineyard located just outside the village of Serralunga. The nebbiolo vines here grow in sedimentary marine soils mixed with calcareous marl, and the resulting wines are textbook examples of the powerful structure associated with Barolo from Serralunga. This 2001 harnesses that power in a seamless way, the tannin providing a firm foundation for the interplay of punchy cherry flavors and fragrant porcini earthiness. After a day of air, the wine grows more expressive and becomes a precise, clean arc of flavor that lasts. Completely satisfying, this will only get better with time. Buy three bottles: two for the cellar and one for grilled rack of lamb." (12/2007)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona "Pianrosso" Brunello di Montalcino (96JS, 93RP, 92AG, 92WS, 91ST). James Suckling: "Complex aromas of red fruits, flowers and fresh mushrooms follow through to a full body, with ultra-fine tannins and intense fruit and bright acidity. Goes on for a long, long time. So juicy and fruity. Hints of bitter lemon rind." (01/2012)

2006 Finca Villacreces
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Finca Villacreces (94RP, 90ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The purple-colored 2006 Tinto is made up of 86% Tempranillo and the balance Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot aged for 16 months in French oak. The nose displays a brooding aromatic array of Asian spices, damp earth, mineral, blackberry, and violets. Dense and stacked on the palate, the wine is still a bit tightly wound and will benefit from 4-6 years of additional cellaring. Incipiently complex and exceptionally lengthy, it should be at its best from 2025 to 2031. " (04/2010)

2007 Fontodi "Vigna del Sorbo" Chianti Classico Riserva
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Fontodi "Vigna del Sorbo" Chianti Classico Riserva (95JS, 95RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Chianti Classico Riserva Vigna del Sorbo is a wine that expresses a contemporary vision of what Chianti Classico can be but without ever fully abandoning its roots. The single-vineyard Vigna del Sorbo adds 10% Cabernet Sauvignon (planted on Sangiovese rootstocks) to the Sangiovese. Texturally it is classic Sangiovese with the fine, sweet tannins that are the hallmark of the vintage, while the Cabernet adds a sepia-hued dimension to the fruit and an element of greater richness in the body, but without dominating the aromatic or flavor profile. The radiant warmth of Panzano doesn’t hurt either, as the fruit is gloriously ripe and soft in this vintage. Everything is beautifully in balance, including the oak, which is barely perceptible. Today the Vigna del Sorbo is very young. It should start to be expressive around age ten and continue to drink

Dark, dry and elegantly structured, it has classic Napa tannins and is nicely trimmed in acidity. The flavors are complex and delicious, suggesting ripe blackberries, black currants and cedar. Drink now-2015." (10/10) According to Wine Spectator: "Up-front ripe plum, wild berry, mineral and dusty, cedary oak flavors have a trace of maturity. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Glaetzer "Amon-Ra" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia (96RP, 95WE, 93JH, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet in color, the 2005 Amon-Ra displays aromas of pure black currant cordial, dark chocolate, violets and toast with a hint of raw meat and touch of Indian spices. Full-bodied with a taut and muscular frame defined by firm grainy tannins, it is still very youthful and offers fresh, crisp acid that retains nice vibrancy through the long finish. 2007 Groth "Reserve" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Groth "Reserve" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (96WE, 94W&S, 94WS). Wine Enthusiast: "A huge Cabernet, in the best sense of the word. It wasn’t the easiest vintage, as 2007 was, but meticulous winemaking did the job, resulting in this amazingly rich, impressively ripe wine that’s drinkable now and will develop for many years. The fruits veer toward blackberries, cherries and cola, and the tannins are soft and refined. One hundred percent new French oak isn’t at all heavy, lending nuances of buttered toast and sweet wood tannins. Will easily age for 15 years." (02/2012)

2007 Saxum "Heart Stone Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2007 Saxum "Heart Stone Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (98RP, 97WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The late-released 2007 Heart Stone, which spent 28 months in a combination of barrels, demi-muids, and pungeons, turned out to be a final blend of 65% Syrah, 21% Grenache, and 14% Mourvedre. Like all of Justin Smith’s 2007s, it is a riveting, sensational wine that carries its heavy weight, profound richness, and intensity very gracefully. That is no doubt an effect of the limestone soils of this region. Blackberry and smoked meats as well as some garrigue and floral notes are followed by a dense, rich, pure, multi-layered wine that just screams for grilled poultry or meats! Bottled unfined and unfiltered...this is a fabulous wine that combines power and elegance. It should drink well for at least a decade or more. (RP)" (08/2010)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Syrah Reva, coming from parcels of dark, volcanic soil, has off-the-chart richness and intensity. This thick, opaque-purple colored wine offers up notes of scorched earth, ground pepper, and blackberry liqueur intermixed with cassis, licorice, camphor, and tar. The wine is spectacular in every sense. Full-bodied and certainly not for wimps, this is a remarkably concentrated yet very nuanced and intense wine that should age for 20 more years." (08/2010)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Much more Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated, the 2009 Palengat (86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 6% Merlot) shows the warmer vintage with ripe red and black fruit, licorice, roasted meat and hints of singed herbs on the nose. Fantastically polished on the palate, with silky tannin, full-bodied richness and a layered mouthfeel, it is a knockout effort that will have 15-20 years of prime drinking. Drink now-2029. Finishes long and aromatic, with superb mineral lift. Wonderfully palate-staining 2010 white Burgundy." (09/2012)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils Echézeaux Grand Cru (OWC - 93BH, (90-93ST), 92RP) in original wood. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(from vines in the lieu-dit en Orveaux) Bright, deep red-ruby. Pure, perfumed aromas of currant, violet and licorice. Suave and sweet, with pronounced minerality giving definition to the currant and floral flavors. A deep wine with a long, perfumed but slightly austere back end. Prost finds this difficult to taste today, noting that it's "a late ripener." (04/2010)

1999 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1999 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (93RP, 92ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep plum, currant, and mineral notes emerge from the concentrated, beautifully balanced, pure 1999 Haut Brion. It seems to be cut from the same mold as years such as 1979 and 1985. There is a hint of graphite in the abundant fruit. The wine is medium to full-bodied, nuanced, subtle, deep, and provocatively elegant. It is made in a style that only Haut Brion appears capable of achieving. The finish is extremely long, the tannins sweet, and the overall impression one of delicacy interwoven with power and ripeness. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2025. (RP)" (04/2002)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Perrot Minot Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes ((92-94BH), 94WS, 92ST, 91RP). Wine Spectator: "This red is lush and palate-coating, spreading its black cherry, blackberry and violet flavors like jam on toast. Its dense tannins are buried, but present, boosting the structure as the fruit kicks in on the finish. Best from 2015 through 2028. 96 cases made. " (02/2013)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Dujac Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Aux Combottes" (92BH, 90AG, 90RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the fruit is more deeply pitched with excellent nuance to the well-layered blue and black pinot fruit that also evidences hints of violets, earth and wet stone. There is a clean and polished mouth feel (in the best sense) to the energetic and saline-infused flavors that are shaped by ripe tannins on the mouth coating, dusty and balanced finish. As it often is, this is a wine of finesse yet it doesn't lack for character and depth." (01/2014)

Intense nose of dried blackberries and cherries laced with complex aromas of coffee grounds, tobacco leaf, cumin and soy. Nice concentration of mature berry and spice fruit balanced by medium to firm, slightly chewy tannins and medium to high acidity. A more structured style of Opus. Very long finish. Drink now to 2020. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Duhart-Milon, Pauillac (97RP, 95JS, (89-92ST), 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon and 37% Merlot, it displays an inky/blue/purple color as well as a big, sweet nose of creme de cassis, forest floor, licorice, lead pencil, cedar and subtle barrique smells. Viscous and full-bodied, it is the most concentrated and broadest example of this cuvee I have tasted in over three decades. It will be ready to drink in 5-7 years and should last for three decades or more. Consumers looking to maximize value should be checking out Duhart Milon, as this may be the single smartest purchase in this great and historic vintage!" (02/2012)

2007 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 97JS, 97ST, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 2007 Harlan Estate reminds me of a hypothetical blend of the 2002 with a touch of the controversial 1997. Dense plum/purple-colored with sweet aromas of barbecue smoke, blueberries, blackberries, cassis, licorice, hot rocks and subtle oak, it is a splendidly opulent, pure wine with a skyscraper-like texture as well as stunningly deep fruit that expands gracefully across the palate. The finish lasts nearly a full minute. Because of its overwhelming richness and sweet tannins, this brilliant wine seems to be approachable now, but I suspect further nuances and complexity will emerge after 4-5 years in the bottle. This wine will still be going strong at age 25-30. Like the offerings from its sister estate, Bond, these Harlan Estate offerings are uncompromisingly brilliant examples of Napa viticulture and winemaking at its finest. Kudos to proprietor

2007 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Proprietary Red
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Proprietary Red (100RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Thorevilos is monumental, and stands out as one of the most singular and greatest Napa red wines I have ever tasted. An expansive fragrance of subtle barbecue smoke intermixed with graphite, blueberries, espresso, white chocolate and a liqueur of rocks soars from the glass of this full-bodied, prodigious effort. It has the texture of a skyscraper yet never becomes heavy or overbearing. This offering, which can send chills up your spine, is a candidate for one of the finest wines ever made in Napa Valley. It will last for 2-3 decades. (RP)" (12/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien (100JS, 100WS, 98RP, 95ST, 95W&S). Wine Spectator: "*Collectibles, #5 on the Top 100 Wines of 2003* Absolutely fantastic. This is one of the most exciting young reds I have tasted in a long, long time. It shows intense aromas of berries, currants and minerals, with hints of mint. Full-bodied and packed with fruit and tannins, its long finish is refined and silky. A benchmark for the vintage. Las Cases has always wanted to make first-growth quality in a top-notch vintage, and it certainly did in 2000. Best after 2012. " (03/2003)

1975 d'Yquem, Sauternes
Bid on this bottle of 1975 d'Yquem, Sauternes (99RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1975 may turn out to be the greatest of the modern-day Yquems. When fully mature in another 25-30 years, it may rival the extraordinary 1937 and 1921. This wine continues to evolve at a stubbornly slow pace. It is far more backward than recent vintages such as 1983 and 1986. Nevertheless, it is awesomely concentrated, has perfect balance, and displays the telltale Yquem aromas of vanillin oak, tropical fruit, pineapples, honeyed peaches, and grilled almonds. There is exceptionally crisp acidity that pulls all of the massive extract into precise focus. This is a wine of astonishing power and finesse, with a finish that must be tasted to be believed. It is a monumental effort that may well justify a perfect score in another decade. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2060. Last tasted, 1/91. (Bordeaux Book, 3rd Edition, 01/1998)" (01/1998)

1990 Margaux, Margaux (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1990 Margaux, Margaux (1.5L) (100RP, 98ST, 98WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I had this wine both in Seoul, Korea in February, and from my cellar in December, 2008, and it was remarkable how identical the wines smelled and tasted. It offers an extraordinary aromatic display of spring flowers, camphor, sweet red and black fruits, a hint of licorice, and no evidence of its 100% new oak cask aging. Round and generous with low acidity, but an opulent, full-bodied richness that is fresh with laser-like precision, this stunning wine is just beginning to reach its plateau of full maturity, where it should remain for another three decades. A sensational effort, it is one of the legendary wines made at Chateau Margaux. (RP)" (06/2009)

1984 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1984 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Chateau Montelena's wines possess gorgeous potential when young, and are even better when revisited later. The 1984 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits the forward, jammy, cassis, and other black fruit character of the vintage, marvelously rich, full-bodied, concentrated flavors, high extract, gobs of glycerin, and moderate tannin in the finish. Its virtues - purity, richness, and opulence - along with a firm underpinning of tannin, should serve it well...(RP)" (08/1994)

Bid on this magnum of 2011 Ridge "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) ((93-95RP), 93AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Monte Bello (87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc) emerges from the glass with tobacco, grilled herbs, smoke, incense and plums melding together in this soft, beautifully textured Monte Bello. The 2011 is a wine of exceptional textural finesse. The 100% new oak is totally integrated. In 2011, Ridge used a total of 18 of a possible 24 lots for the final blend. The presence of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon is the highest since the 1980s. I expect the 2011 to be a relatively early drinking Monte Bello, but time will be the judge. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2031. Bid on this magnum of 2001 Saxum "Bone Rock" James Berry Vineyard Paso Robles Syrah (1.5L) (95RP, 93WS). 95 points Robert Parker: "The spectacular 2001 Syrah James Berry Vineyard Bone Rock is a 300- case blend of 92% Syrah, 5% Mourvedre, and 3% Grenache aged 21 months in both French and Hungarian oak. Racked once, and bottled unfined and unfiltered, it takes its name from fossilized whale bones that were found imbedded in the vineyard’s steep, rocky terraces. It boasts great power and richness, but is incredibly well balanced. Its dense ruby/purple color is accompanied by a huge perfume of blackberry liqueur, camphor, licorice, earth, and roasting meat juices. The fabulous complex aromatics are followed by a full-bodied Syrah with great purity, impeccable balance, and world-class richness, complexity, and stature. This amazing effort can be drunk now or cellared for a decade. This is the best recent trilogy I’ve experienced since Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings!" (08/04) 93 points Wi

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Kistler "Hirsch Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (93RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From a vineyard associated more with Pinot Noir than Chardonnay, the 2001 Chardonnay Hirsch Vineyard exhibits a light gold color as well as a big, earthy, mineral-filled bouquet with notions of scorched smoke, citrus oil, and a striking liquid stone character. This structured, nearly tannic Chardonnay should hit its prime in 1-2 years, and last for 5-7." (12/2003)

Aromas of cassis, plum, tar, cedar and tobacco; a light dusty note dissipated with aeration. Highly concentrated, sweet and succulent, with a juicy, spicy quality as suggestive of cabernet as zinfandel. Finishes firmly tannic and fresh, with superb lingering fruit.
