2001 Kistler "Hirsch Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Kistler "Hirsch Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (93RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From a vineyard associated more with Pinot Noir than Chardonnay, the 2001 Chardonnay Hirsch Vineyard exhibits a light gold color as well as a big, earthy, mineral-filled bouquet with notions of scorched smoke, citrus oil, and a striking liquid stone character. This structured, nearly tannic Chardonnay should hit its prime in 1-2 years, and last for 5-7." (12/2003)

2001 Schrader Vieux-OS "Ira Carter" Napa Valley Old Vine Zinfandel
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Schrader Vieux-OS "Ira Carter" Napa Valley Old Vine Zinfandel (92ST). 92 points Stephen Tanzer: "Good dark red. Aromas of cassis, plum, tar, cedar and tobacco; a light dusty note dissipated with aeration. Highly concentrated, sweet and succulent, with a juicy, spicy quality as suggestive of cabernet as zinfandel. Finishes firmly tannic and fresh, with superb lingering fruit. This terrific zinfandel has delivered on the promise it showed a year ago from barrel." (May/June 2004)

2011 Ridge "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2011 Ridge "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) ((93-95RP), 93AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Monte Bello (87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc) emerges from the glass with tobacco, grilled herbs, smoke, incense and plums melding together in this soft, beautifully textured Monte Bello. The 2011 is a wine of exceptional textural finesse. The 100% new oak is totally integrated. In 2011, Ridge used a total of 18 of a possible 24 lots for the final blend. The presence of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon is the highest since the 1980s. I expect the 2011 to be a relatively early drinking Monte Bello, but time will be the judge. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2031. 2001 Saxum "Bone Rock" James Berry Vineyard Paso Robles Syrah (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2001 Saxum "Bone Rock" James Berry Vineyard Paso Robles Syrah (1.5L) (95RP, 93WS). 95 points Robert Parker: "The spectacular 2001 Syrah James Berry Vineyard Bone Rock is a 300- case blend of 92% Syrah, 5% Mourvedre, and 3% Grenache aged 21 months in both French and Hungarian oak. Racked once, and bottled unfined and unfiltered, it takes its name from fossilized whale bones that were found imbedded in the vineyard’s steep, rocky terraces. It boasts great power and richness, but is incredibly well balanced. Its dense ruby/purple color is accompanied by a huge perfume of blackberry liqueur, camphor, licorice, earth, and roasting meat juices. The fabulous complex aromatics are followed by a full-bodied Syrah with great purity, impeccable balance, and world-class richness, complexity, and stature. This amazing effort can be drunk now or cellared for a decade. This is the best recent trilogy I’ve experienced since Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings!" (08/04) 93 points Wi

2008 Sine Qua Non "Jinete Bajo Vin de Paille" Roussanne (375ml) (OWC)
Bid on this 3-half-bottle lot of 2008 Sine Qua Non "Jinete Bajo Vin de Paille" Roussanne (375ml) (OWC - 96RP, 95ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The days of the Mr. K wines are gone forever with the tragically premature death of Austrian Alois Kracher, who had partnered with Manfred Krankl in this intriguing homage to sweet nectars. Krankl continues on his own, and in Spring, 2011, he will release the 2008 Jinete Bajo Roussanne Vin de Paille, which is named after his wife's favorite horse. Made from 100% estate fruit, with a finished alcohol level of 11.8%, a whopping 240 grams per liter of residual sugar, and 8.7 grams of acidity, this is a pure nectar of honeyed marmalade, waxy, syrupy honeysuckle, exotic creme brulee, and citrus. The remarkable acidity cuts through the extraordinary sweetness, so the impression is fresh and vibrant. Krankl has pulled off a marvelous balancing act with this cuvee. How long will it last? I have no idea - maybe 50-100 years, but gi

2004 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (97WE, 94CG, 94RP, 94WS, 93ST, 91W&S). Wine Enthusiast: "Tasted in October, 2007, the wine was mute, offering little aromatically except for teasing notes of blackberries and oak. That shyness extended to the taste, where strong, hard tannins provide an almost impenetrable coat of armor to what’s inside. But right down the middle of the palate is a deep, intensely powerful stream of perfectly ripened cassis that’s all the proof you need of ageability. This is a magnificently structured young wine, reminiscent of a fine young Pauillac. Best after 2012, and should have another decade after that, at least." (02/2008)

2001 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Togni’s 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon explodes onto the palate with layers of dark fruit, roasted coffee beans, autumn leaves and spices. This is an immensely satisfying wine graced with striking inner sweetness and a vibrancy that will drink well for another 15+ years. The density of the fruit at ten years of age is remarkable. The 2001 is a re-release from the estate’s library. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2027. (AG)" (12/2011)

Of the 2003 Williams Selyem Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir,Connoisseurs Guide writes: "Classic cool-area Sonoma Pinot, this one features pulpy, ripe red cherry aromas filled with creamy oak and carried comfortably by the wine's varietally correct velvety texture. It is genuinely fruity in the mouth with a pleasing aftertaste and slight firmness to its lingering finish. Time in bottle will temper a bit of its direct and somewhat coarse approach and will allow it to develop an extra complement of range." (06/2005)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Spottswoode "Family Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 92ST, 92WE, 92WS, 91CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " The 2003’s sensational aromatics offer up scents of blueberries, black raspberries, currants, subtle wood spice and spring flower garden. Rich and full-bodied with exquisite purity, an ethereal elegance yet serious substance, texture and length, this is an example of great winemaking and viticulture. Of course, it doesn’t hurt to have a first growth-like terroir. Still in its pre-adolescence, this beauty should age effortlessly for another quarter of a century. Bravo! 97+ (RP)" (06/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Pax "Griffin's Lair" Sonoma Coast Syrah (94RP, 93ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Syrah Griffin’s Lair, from a hillside Sonoma Coast site that is wind-swept, exhibits beautiful flowery bacon and lead pencil notes intermixed with some meat juices, blackberry, and cassis. The wine is full-bodied, rather opulent, fleshy, and mouthfilling with no hard edges, and should drink beautifully for 5-8 years." (12/2007)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine Meo-Camuzet Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru ((91-94BH), 93WS, (90-92ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A relatively expressive nose of various red berry fruit elements has added breadth from the presence of discreet spice and plenty of pungent earth character. The delicious and unusually fine flavors possess really lovely detail and good verve if only moderate power on the balanced and beautifully persistent finish. The supporting tannins are quite fine-grained and this is more of a Clos de Vougeot of finesse and harmony rather than robust muscle and punch." (01/2013)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97WE, 93WS, 91CG). Wine Enthusiast: "So delicious now, you can hardly keep your hands off it. Blackberry tart, ripe blueberry, cassis, milk chocolate, licorice and sweet, smoky cedar flavors flood the mouth, dramatically huge and memorable, and lasting long into the finish. The tannins are obvious, but sweetly ripe and soft. A brilliant evocation of Napa Cabernet, despite a high production level of nearly 30,000 cases, which is about the same size as a Bordeaux first growth. Fat, sweet and accessible, with creamy flavors of bitter cherry, mint and sweet American oak. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96RP, 95WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the stars of the vintage and coming from absurdly low yields of 18 hectoliters per hectare, the 2011 Chateauneuf du Pape is a full-bodied, seamless effort that exhibits copious kirsch, ground pepper, dried flowers and underbrush as well as incredibly fine tannin, great mid-palate concentration and ample length on the finish. Relatively forward by this estate’s standards, it will be approachable at an earlier age than normal. Nevertheless, it will have 20+ years of evolution and is an awesome effort in the vintage. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Looking at the 2010s and a brilliant vintage for Laurence, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape offers up classic Pegau aromas and flavors of ripe dark fruits, garrigue, cured meats, tobacco leaf, saddle leather and hints of game. Full-bodied and beautifully concentrated, it offers a seamless, layered profile on the palate with thrilling mid-palate depth, sweet, yet substantial tannin, and a blockbuster finish that stays fresh and beautifully focused. Quite polished by this estates standards, it nevertheless screams southern France and I doubt it’s possible to have too much of this beauty in the cellar. This is a vintage of overt, sumptuous fruit and pure sexiness. Despite its richness, the 2007 never loses its sense of structure, but in this vintage the tannins are nearly buried by the huge fruit. Today the 2007 comes across as a hypothetical blend of the 2004 and 2006, with the finesse of the former and the size of the latter. Not a bad combination, to put it mildly. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Giscours, Margaux (94WE, 91WS). Wine Enthusiast: "After initial tastings suggested there was too much tannin, the wine has undergone a welcome transformation. It has become powerful and ripe, deliciously sumptuous, allying the tannins with densely ripe, sweet black fruits. It keeps its sense of balance, but all this density gives aging potential. 2008 Groth "Reserve" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Groth "Reserve" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (96WE, 93JS). Wine Enthusiast: "*Top 100 Cellar Selections of 2012* A huge Cabernet, in the best sense of the word. It wasn't the easiest vintage, as 2007 was, but meticulous winemaking did the job, resulting in this amazingly rich, impressively ripe wine that's drinkable now and will develop for many years. The fruits veer toward blackberries, cherries and cola, and the tannins are soft and refined. One hundred percent new French oak isn't at all heavy, lending nuances of buttered toast and sweet wood tannins. Will easily age for 15 years." (02/2012)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Glaetzer Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia (96JH, (94-96RP), 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The finest of this trio is the flagship cuvee, the 2004 Shiraz produced from 80- to 150-year-old dry farmed vineyards in the northern Ebenezer sector of the Barossa. Aged 16 months in French oak and American hogsheads, this larger-than-life, fascinating wine (cropped at .25 to 1 ton of fruit per acre) offers big, sweet, blackberry and cassis characteristics intermixed with notions of smoke, licorice, and pain grille. A wine of amazing extract, richness, and full-bodied power, with great purity as well as balance, this stunning offering should age effortlessly for 15 or more years. Filled with personality, it is a tour de force in Barossa Shiraz." (10/2005)

Of the 2008 Herb Lamb "Two Old Dogs" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,From the winemaker writes: "More than the previous vintages, this wine shows dense chocolate, cocoa powder in the nose, and is also plusher on the palate. It is sweet in the nose, like a Heath Bar or salt water taffy. It tastes like a big, juicy blueberry tart. This growing season on this vintage gave us some of the highest pHs of all the wines, which created a different style to this vintage than the others, but it has become a very nicely balanced wine."

2006 Herb Lamb "HL" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Herb Lamb "HL" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Winemaker's Tasting Notes: "This vintage was all about letting the delicate fruit flavors express themselves over the oak and tannins. The 2006 HL Cabernet Sauvignon is a reflection of the uniqueness of the Herb Lamb Vineyards; it is basically a cool climate Howell Mountain foothills wine produced from rocky mountain soils with a north-east exposure giving true juicy, natural fruity character to these wines instead of emphasizing the heavy tannin extraction. The cooler weather gave us a little more heft and richness in this wine. Although rich with good structure and lots of layers and finesse, it’s more of a muscular vintage than an ultra luxurious one. In the nose, this wine opens with aromas of dark cocoa and dried tobacco, then shows the bright black and red fruits typical of the hillside vineyard. It is very juicy in the mouth, with lots of layers and dimensions, and tastes like a mouthful of cherries

Of the 1999 Miner Family "Stagecoach Vineyard" Napa Valley Merlot (1.5L),From the winery writes: "Giddy Up! This Merlot is our first wine to come from the highly sought after Stagecoach Vineyard set high above the eastern hills of the valley. Carved out of rocky, red volcanic soil similar to the earth up at Oakville Ranch, this vineyard gives us the rich characteristics of mountain grown fruit. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Isole e Olena "Cepparello" Toscana (96RP, 93ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cepparello comes across as rich, round and totally seductive in this tasting. Stylistically, it shares many attributes with the 1990 and 1997, although in my view it is more elegant than those wines. There is an immediacy about the 2007 that is highly appealing, and which will make the wine accessible relatively early. Layers of fruit build beautifully to an exciting crescendo of aromas and flavors. This is an undeniably sexy Cepparello. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2027 ... The flagship Cepparello is 100% Sangiovese aged in French oak barrels. This nearly complete vertical charts the history of one of Tuscany’s most compelling wines. The first Cepparellos were vinified in cement. The cellar was heated to induce malolactic fermentation and the wines were subsequently aged roughly equal parts Slavonian oak casks and smaller French oak barriques, with a dollop o

2009 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (98RP, 97JS, 96WE, 96WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Performing even better from bottle than it did from barrel, this appears to be the finest Lynch Bages since the 2000, 1990 and 1989. According to the chateau, the 2009 has the highest level of polyphenols ever measured as well as high alcohol (nearly 13.5%). A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest largely Merlot with touches of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it is an expressive, voluptuously textured effort with unctuosity and powerful, juicy, succulent blackberry and black currant flavors, low acids, a layered, massive mouthfeel, but no sense of heaviness or fatigue. This exquisite Lynch Bages should drink well for 30+ years." (02/2012)

1996 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1996 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95RP, 94JS, 93ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1996 Dominus, a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 4% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot, tips the scales at 14.2% alcohol. Although this offering lacks the power, intensity, and compelling characteristics of the 1991 and 1994, it is not far off the pace of those two monumental wines. A super nose of roasted coffee, chocolate, dried herbs, black fruits and kirsch is both intense and persuasive. The wine displays terrific richness, medium to full body, low acidity, a succulent, opulent texture, and superb purity. This beautifully made 1996 is one of the few wines that has successfully tamed the vintage's elevated tannin level. It should be relatively drinkable upon its release, yet evolve nicely for two decades. Impressive! (RP)" (12/1998)
