2012 Rhys "Swan Terrace" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Rhys "Swan Terrace" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir (95RP, 94ST, 93AG, 93BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From a steep slope located between 1,210 and 1,300 feet above sea level, the 2012 Pinot Noir Swan Terrace shows lots of whole-cluster influence in its ground pepper, black cherry, wood smoke and forest floor/autumn leaf-driven personality. Hitting the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, bright acidity and plenty of concentration and tannic grip, this is a serious, structured and Burgundian Pinot Noir from this team that has the depth and class to evolve nicely for another decade or more. 2003 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Syrah
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2003 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Syrah (95RP, 93ST, 91WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Broken Stones, a 350-case blend of 80% Syrah, 12% Grenache, and 8% Mourvedre, offers a fabulously sweet nose of black raspberries, blackberries, licorice, pepper, and subtle herbs, followed by pure, full-bodied flavors that coat the palate, but are neither heavy nor cloying. The oak component is virtually undetectable as it is concealed by the wine’s wealth of fruit and extraordinary concentration. It should drink well for 10-12 years. The 2003s were bottled about seven weeks before my visit, but I could hardly complain about the fact they weren’t “showing.” I highly recommend that wine enthusiasts who love Rhone Ranger wines pay a visit to the James Berry Vineyard, one of the true grand cru sites in the region. 2010 Merry Edwards "Olivet Lane" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Merry Edwards "Olivet Lane" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (95WE, 90WS). Wine Enthusiast: "The pedigree of this rich Pinot Noir is evident right away in the mouthfeel, offering a silky and satiny texture, brightened with citrusy acidity. The flavors immediately kick in with a solid wall of red cherries, licorice, persimmons, pomegranates and cola. An exciting, complex wine to drink now, and it should gather momentum over six years, maybe even longer." (03/2013)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Williams Selyem "Eastside Road Neighbors" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (92CG, 92ST, 90WE, 90WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(made from fruit grown in the Lone Oak, Calegari, Black Rose and Foss vineyards): Bright ruby-red. Explosively perfumed aromas of candied red berries, rose and woodsmoke, with a spicy overtone. Juicy, penetrating red and dark berry flavors provide excellent palate coverage and show a seamless character. Open-knit and delicious now, finishing with excellent thrust and clarity." (04/2012)

2009 Cayuse "En Cerise" Walla Walla Valley Syrah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Cayuse "En Cerise" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (96RP, 95WS, 94ST, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Fermented in concrete, then aged in demi-muids, only around 20% of which were new, Baron’s 2009 Syrah En Cerise Vineyard incorporates a mouthwateringly savory alliance of smoke meat and soy sauce to its luxuriantly rich, silken-textured matrix of confitured cassis and cherry, further laced with salted caramel, while striking perfume of mint, gentian, cardamom, and rose wood hovers above the glass and inner-mouth. The finish here lingers with an uncanny combination of seductive caress, vibrancy, richness, and buoyancy, its many flavor strands -- floral, fruited, animal, spice and mineral -- dynamically intertwining. I would surely give at least some bottles of it 12-15 years’ opportunity to show their true potential. Cautious as I attempt to be in drawing such parallels, if Baron’s latest Cailloux bottling resembles Verset Cornas, then this En Cerise put

2010 Ridge Vineyards "Geyserville" Sonoma Zinfandel
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Ridge Vineyards "Geyserville" Sonoma Zinfandel (90ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Glass-staining ruby. Ripe cherry and blackberry aromas are complicated by suggestions of mace, star anise and smoky herbs. Sweet dark fruit flavors pick up a refreshingly bitter quality with air, along with a note of candied violet. Spicy and broad on the finish, which clings with impressive sweetness and persistence. This wine drinks well now, especially with a bit of aeration. (JR)" (05/2012)

1996 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Proprietary Red
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Proprietary Red (95RP, 93WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aged 22 months in 100% new French oak, this blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17% Merlot reveals a powerful core of red and black fruits, dusty, loamy soil, lavender and a hint of toast. I would not describe it as elegant, but rather, it is a big, backstrapping, Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine that should continue to drink well for 15 or more years. (RP)" (11/2013)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Petite Syrah reveals a black/purple color as well as notes of graphite, smoke, blackberries, blueberries, creme de cassis, a liqueur of mineral-like intensity, and huge tannin and concentration. The 2004 Petite Syrah Hayne Vineyard possesses the purest fruit, density, and intensity. This is a prodigious wine that should be purchased only by those with cold cellars and good DNA for longevity as it will all age for 40-50 years" (12/2005)

2010 Aubert "UV-SL Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Aubert "UV-SL Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (94RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Chardonnay UV-SL Vineyard boasts remarkable textural depth and finesse. Rich, round and seamless, the UV-SL is all about body and endless layers of flavor. An element of salinity gives a finish laced with white flowers and citrus of considerable freshness. This is a stunning set of wines from Mark Aubert. Both the Chardonnays and Pinots developed considerably over the time I followed them. Readers should open the wines at least several hours in advance. In general, the 2010s are brighter and more focused than the 2009s, which are more generous. Alcohol levels are also lower across the board in 2010. (AG)" (02/2012)

1989 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1989 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (92RP, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1989 is undoubtedly the Cabernet Sauvignon of the vintage. The color is a dark ruby/purple and the nose offers up sweet, fragrant scents of black fruits, cedar, herbs, and spicy wood. In the mouth, there is extraordinary concentration, medium to full body, and an authoritatively rich, lingering finish. Terroirists will have a difficult time explaining why the wine tastes more like a Pomerol than Napa Cabernet. Interestingly, Moueix stated the key to his success in 1989 was to wait six to seven days after the rains had stopped before harvesting so the vines could shed their excess moisture. The 7,000 cases of this wine that were produced will be released in the fall of 1993. (RP)" (10/1993)

Another winner with its varietal diversity including Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Alicante Bouchet, Grand Noir, Teroldego, Syrah, Black Muscat and Golden Chasselas. Aged 22 months in mostly used oak (various sizes), it offers awesome purity and freshness in its black raspberry, cassis, ground herbs, white pepper and licorice-driven bouquet. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1998 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP, 89ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate (13,000 cases) will disprove all the naysayers about how bad the vintage was in the North Coast. It possesses an opaque ruby/purple color, a gorgeous perfume of loamy soil, new saddle leather, chocolate, and black cherry and black currant fruit, full body, and ripe tannin in the finish. As it sits in the glass, notes of cedar and spice box also emerge. Although more evolved than most Montelena Cabernets are at age 4, there is no doubting that it will still provide considerable pleasure at age 15 or 16. (RP)" (08/2002)

Still youthful and unevolved, but promising, give it another several years of bottle age and drink it over the following 12-15 years. Vinous: "The 2011 Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast) has a bit of a darker toned than the Russian River bottling, and also firmer in its tannin. Plum, black cherry, menthol, tobacco and licorice meld together gracefully as the 2011 opens up in the glass. The combination of fruit and structure is compelling. This is a fabulous appellation-level Pinot, due in part to the vineyard blend, which in 2011 includes 40% fruit from Gap's Crown, along with Terra del Promissio and Walala. (AG)" (02/2014)

Bid on this 2-half-bottle lot of 2008 Ridge "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Red Blend (375ml) (97RP, 95ST, 95W&S, 94JS, 92WS, 90WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Monte Bello is striking. It is a decidedly muscular Monte Bello endowed with layers of dark fruit. Tobacco, mint, asphalt and crushed rocks develop in the glass, adding tons of complexity and finesse. A long, saline finish rounds things out beautifully. In 2008 the cold growing season stretched into October and the wine definitely has the feel of a cool vintage. The spring frost and the second year of drought conditions lowered yields significantly. Yields were just 1.25 tons per acre on average, but some of the older vineyards came in at less than 1 ton per acre. The balance of fruit, tannin and structure is simply extraordinary, but the wine needs time, most likely lots of it. In 2008 the blend is 72% Cabernet Sauvignon and 28% Merlot. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2038. (97+) (AG)" (08/2011)

Shows a vast repository of black currant, blackberry, black cherry and new oak flavors wrapped into a smooth, velvety mouthfeel whose finish goes on forever. Bid on this bottle of 2002 Diamond Creek "Volcanic Hill" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 96W&S, 95WE, 92CG, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Volcanic Hill (an 8-acre, south-facing parcel) comes from white volcanic ash soils called 'tufa.' It is an extraordinarily young, full-bodied Cabernet offering plenty of blackberry, cassis, white chocolate and crushed rock characteristics along with huge tannins. In fact, I thought it was even more backward than the Red Rock Terrace or Gravelly Meadow. Intense and full with fabulous potential, this is another compelling effort from Diamond Creek. Forget it for a decade and drink it over the following 25-30+ years. These three extremely youthful and impressive wines from Diamond Creek Vineyards are all backward and in need of 5-7 years of additional cellaring. 1995 Viader Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1995 Viader Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Similar in style to the 1996, the 1995 reveals an opaque purple color, remarkably sweet tannin for a wine from this vintage, and gorgeous levels of black currant fruit nicely complemented by toast, smoke, and floral scents. This rich, medium to full-bodied wine fills the mouth without any sense of heaviness or harshness. It is a beautifully knit, lush, complex, elegant red wine ... The wines from this superbly situated hillside vineyard on the lower slopes of Howell Mountain are going from strength to strength. Proprietor Delia Viader believes in blending these wines with a relatively high percentage of Cabernet Franc. In most vintages, the proportion of Cabernet Franc is close to 50%, with the balance Cabernet Sauvignon. Improvements noticeable in both the 1995 and 1996 (and for that matter that 1994) have included richer mid-palates, and less aggressive oak and acidity. (RP)" (1

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien (95RP, 94JS, 94WE, 92ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the stars of the vintage, and a remarkable achievement in 2008, with impressive richness, this dense purple colored wine is almost as opaque as the 2010. Spring flowers, crushed rocks, creme de cassis and some subtle oak are followed by a full-bodied, concentrated wine that transcends the vintage character in its power, richness, and aging potential. It also exhibits tremendous precision, purity, and depth of character. It is more forward than the 2010 is likely to be, but probably not as sumptuous as the 2009 will turn out to be. This is a wine to buy. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2035." (05/2011)

2001 Léoville Poyferré, St-Julien
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Léoville Poyferré, St-Julien (95WE, 93W&S, 90RP, 90ST, 90WS). Wine Enthusiast: "The completeness of 2001, with its miraculous balance, is present in this wine. The acidity, ripe blackcurrants sit comfortably on top of dry tannins, the fleshiness of the fruit taking the edge off the tannins. It seems to bring out the structure, the fruit and the refreshing acidity of great Cabernet." (12/2007)

2009 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine Spectator: "Shows notable herb, mint and bay leaf overtones, with a tight, dense core of dried currant and berry that is slow to open. This is very shut down for now, and should age for a long time. The flavors build on the finish. Drink now through 2027." (06/2014)

Wine Spectator: " Lovely berry, spice and leather aromas follow through to a medium- to full-bodied palate, with firm and silky tannins and a long, caressing finish. A harmonious wine. Not quite what it was from barrel, but outstanding all the same. Racy Calon. Best after 2010. " (03/2003)

2004 Gemstone "Facets" Yountville Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2004 Gemstone "Facets" Yountville Bordeaux Blend (94RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and 13% Cabernet Franc, the 2004 Facets of Gemstone exhibits a similar character, but more mocha, black cherry, chocolate, and espresso-like notes, a plumper, more lush sweetness (no doubt because of the higher percentage of Merlot), and great aromatics, texture, expansiveness, and length. It should improve for 2-5 years, and drink well for 12-15. (RP)" (12/2006)

2012 Rivers-Marie "Summa Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Rivers-Marie "Summa Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (94VN, 93ST, 92BH). Vinous: "The 2012 Pinot Noir Summa Vineyard is drop-dead gorgeous. Cranberry, red cherry, wild flowers, mint and cinnamon meld together beautifully. I find a little more depth and focus in the Summa next to the Summa Old Vines, which is a bit more wandering, especially in its aromatics. Layers of bright red fruit build to the crystalline, inviting finish. The 2012 is round and supple in style, yet also layered with vibrancy." (02/2014)

2010 Marcassin "Three Sisters Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Marcassin "Three Sisters Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (99RP, 94VN, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "With a slightly smokier edge to the honeysuckle, poached pear, pineapple and caramelized citrus notes, the 2010 Chardonnay Marcassin Vineyard hits the palate with a full-bodied, thunderous affect of fruit, glycerin and acidity. The wine reveals some smoke in the aromatics, but little, if any, in the flavor profile. Full-bodied, lovely, and again, close to perfection (as so often these wines are), this is a beauty to drink over the next decade or more. (RP)" (08/2015)

2005 Le Gay, Pomerol
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Le Gay, Pomerol (95RP, 93WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "95+ points. The finest Le Gay produced since the post World War II era, the 2005 even eclipses the fabulous 1982 and 1989. This inky/purple-hued effort reflects the commitment of proprietress Catherine Pere-Verge. An extraordinary perfume of blueberries, blackberries, flowers, truffles, and a touch of steely minerality is followed by a massive wine of exceptional concentration, a multilayered texture, phenomenal purity, and a finish that lasts for nearly a minute. It is a massive, old style, pure, rich Pomerol that should only be purchased by patient connoisseurs as gratification will need to be deferred for at least a decade. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2040+." (04/2008)

2007 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting Lot
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 2007 Keenan Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon (94W&S, 92RP, 92ST) and 2-bottles of 2007 Robert Mondavi Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (92WE, 91RP, 91ST, 91WS). Of the 2007 Keenan Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon,Wine & Spirits writes: "*Listed in the 100 Best Buys of 2011* Nils Venge and Randy Kewell blend Keenan's estate-grown fruit (86 percent) with cabernet from Pope Valley, which adds to this wine's aromatic complexity. The Spring Mountain fruit is deep and dark in its plumminess, with an intense minerality that streaks through the entire wine, as if you can taste the elevation rising into the finish. It builds from savory blueberry and the French roast coffee scent of oak toward crushed rock in the tannin. Even with their explosive mineral power, those tannins manage to feel silken and restrained. For the cellar, and eventually for lamb shank." (10/2011)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Jean-Marc Morey Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Champs Gains" (92BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Outstanding* Here the ripeness is dialed back a bit as the aromas run toward white flowers though there are notes of orange peel and white peach. There is excellent richness to the plump and generous flavors that possess both good detail and a fine sense of vibrancy before ending in a clean, dry, balanced and solidly persistent finish. This is lovely and I very much like the harmonious finale." (06/2012)

2010 Domaine Malandes Chablis Vaudesir Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Malandes Chablis Vaudesir Grand Cru (93BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "( from a .90 ha parcel planted in 1967 and 1987 and matured in 1 to 5 year old oak) A highly complex and really quite perfumed nose offers up notes of mineral reduction, green fruit, sea breeze and a hint of spice, all trimmed is a subtle touch of wood. There is outstanding richness to the full-bodied and palate coating flavors that display an abundance of acid-buffering dry extract as well as superb length on the moderately austere finish. I very much like the textured and impressively refined mouth feel and this is a classic Vaudésir. Drink: 2017+" (09/2012)

2012 Talley "Rosemary's Vineyard" Arroyo Grande Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Talley "Rosemary's Vineyard" Arroyo Grande Pinot Noir (98RP, 93WE, 92VN, 91CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Easily one of the top Pinot Noirs in the vintage (and I'd wager one of the top efforts to ever come out of California), Talley’s 2012 Pinot Noir Rosemary’s Vineyard is world-class stuff that readers need to taste! Unfortunately, there’s a scant 460 cases to go around, but don’t miss a chance to grab some of these. Aged 18 months in 30% new French oak, it exhibits awesome notes of cassis, crushed flowers, rose bush, sappy herbs and exotic spice on the nose. This flows to a medium to full-bodied, rich, yet laser-focused palate that carries tremendous depth, ultra-fine tannin and blockbuster length. Given the balance and purity, it’s already hard to resist, but I’ve no doubt it will evolve nicely for over a decade. (JD)" (11/2014)

2012 Beau Vigne "Cult" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2012 Beau Vigne "Cult" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As great as all these wines are, Beau Vigne’s top wine is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Cult. From a dry-farmed vineyard, it exhibits an inky/blue/black color as well as beautiful, sweet kirsch liqueur notes intermixed with creme de cassis, unsmoked cigar tobacco, underbrush and loamy soil notes. The complex aromatics are followed by a fabulously rich, full-bodied, voluptuously textured wine revealing terrific purity as well as depth. This stunning 2012 should continue to drink well for 15-20+ years. 98+ (RP)" (10/2014)

2005 Carter "Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Carter "Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley (98RP, 95WS, 92W&S). Robert Parker"The Carter Cellars 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon comes in at a rather modest 14.1% natural alcohol, which probably reflects the cool 2005 growing season. At more than $200.00 a bottle, this may be one of the last Beckstoffer To Kalon Cabernets at that price point, and one probably impossible to find except in the auction arena. This wine just has it all – floral notes, crème de cassis, minerality and graphite in what could be a Napa-hypothetical blend of the best of Bordeaux’s Margaux and Pauillac appellations. This is a magical site. (Nearly any capable winemaker producing wine from there has proven that time after time.) This is a killer effort – young and fresh, with at least 20 years upside to it. Pushing perfection..."

2000 Haut-Bergey, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2000 Haut-Bergey, Pessac-Léognan (94RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I bought this wine for myself because I thought it was a sleeper of the vintage, and I couldn’t be happier. My score in two tastings was identical to what it was seven years ago. Chocolatey espresso notes jump from the glass of this dark ruby/purple-colored wine. Full-bodied, with a silky texture, loads of concentration and density, this is a beautiful wine that is both hedonistically and intellectually pleasing. The wine seems to have reached full maturity, where it should stay for another 10-15 years." (06/2010)

2000 Taylor Vintage Port
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Taylor Vintage Port (98RP, 96WE, 95ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Among the most saturated blue/purple/black-colored examples of the vintage, Taylor's 2000 tastes like a young vintage of Chateau Latour on steroids. Aromas of graphite, blackberry liqueur, creme de cassis and smoke jump from the glass. Spectacularly concentrated and enormously endowed, with sweetness allied to ripe tannin, decent acidity, and layer upon layer of fruit and extract, this is the leading candidate for the port of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2040." (10/2002)
