2014 Tilia Malbec Mendoza

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The grapes of the 2014 Malbec were harvested very early and 70% of them fermented using carbonic maceration. The freshness is so impressive that I had to look at the alcohol level, which is half a degree lower than in the fresher 2013 vintage! There are some herbal aromas (think raspberry leaf), bright cherries and flowers, even lilies. The palate is very tasty, with some subtle bitter flavors, fine tannins and very good acidity. This is a triumph over the vintage. Bravo! This should be readily available, as they produced 500,000 bottles of it. And it's ...Read More »

2014 Tapiz "Alta Collection" Malbec Mendoza

95 points James Suckling: "A solid wine with blackberry and black pepper character. Full body, chewy tannins and a fresh and cool finish. So polished and beautiful. From grapes grown in Valle de Uco. Pomerol's legend Jean-Claude Berrouet consults here. Better in 2018." (5/2016) 91 points Wine & Spirits: "Sitting at 4,400 feet in altitude, the San Pablo area is now one of the most sought-after spots for grape growing in the Uco Valley. At that altitude, malbec grapes ripen with intense flavors and firm acidity, as in this red from vines planted in 2007. It is rich in notes of tart cherries and violets with a p ...Read More »

95 points Decanter: "The nose offers a beguiling mix of pineapples and grapes. Inviting jasmine and crisp peach flavours meld with an attractive mouthfeel. Superbly made, with splendid varietal characters. One glass of this won't be enough!" K&L Notes: Colomé is Donald Hess' groundbreaking Argentinian winery in the rugged, high elevation Salta region. 2009 Bodegas Poesia "Cuvee Helene" Red Argentina Top Pick!
2009 Bodegas Poesia "Cuvee Helene" Red Argentina

Bodega Poesia is a project created by Hélène Garcin-Lévêque and her husband, winemaker Patrice Lévêque. With their multiple properties throughout Bordeaux (Clos l’Église Pomerol, Barde-Haut, Haut Bergey and Branon) the next logical move for them, as for many Bordeaux families, is to establish a winery in South America. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec flourish in Argentina. Founded in 1998, Bodega Poesia has quickly established itself as one of the top producers of Malbec, under the guiding hand of Patrice Lévêque with the marketing acumen of Hélène... Read More »

2015 Valentin Bianchi "Elsa Bianchi" Malbec Mendoza

Wine Spectator: "Bright and juicy, with fresh flavors of red plum, currant and raspberry. Offers a plush, round finish. (KM, Web-2016)" K&L Notes: The Elsa Malbec comes from Valentin Bianchi's Doña Elsa estate in the cool reaches of San Rafael, Mendoza. With just a kiss of French oak, the rich fruit dominates this easy-drinking red, which has barely-there tannins. Invoke your inner-Argentine and drink this alongside grilled flank steak with a garlicky chimichurri. Many previous vintages recommended by Wine Enthusiast as a "Best Buy."

Some 10% of the grapes were harvested early to provide freshness. It fermented slowly with neutral bayanus yeasts for some 35 days and lots of fine lees and was bottled without malolactic in the month of June.
